BioBus is BraiNY presents: "Beauty and the Brain"

  • Adam Clayton Powell Plaza 163 West 125th Street New York, NY, 10027 United States (map)

Join the BioBus and BraiNY and partners RockEDU and L'Oréal for this annual, collaborative event at the Adam Clayton Powell Plaza (163 W 125th Street). This year’s festival is all about beauty, neuroscience, and celebrating Harlem.

The day will feature a full spectrum of brain-themed activities, from plastinated brains you can hold to a display of animal brains, including whales and bears! Build-Your-Own-Neurons with arts and crafts while you chat with hair experts from L'Oréal. Participate in a collective art project that will feature sensations from all around Harlem — from sights and smells to memories — and learn about symmetry in humans and nature, color perception, and the neuroscience of choice and identity.

BioBus envisions a world where all people have the opportunity to reach their full scientific potential. BioBus students connect with scientists from diverse backgrounds, learn lab and research skills, practice science communication, and take steps to become the next generation of scientists and problem-solvers, making the world better for all of us. Students access and become part of the scientific community through introductory science labs aboard our mobile labs at their schools; after school, weekend, and summer programs; and year-long internships. They offer programs city-wide with a focus on Harlem, the South Bronx, and the Lower East Side.
